The season for loving, sharing and giving is rapidly approaching and very soon, it will be Christmas day. Gadgets always make for great gifts and are a pleasure to accept as well. Here are some great gadget gift ideas for under $50, which you can give away without it burning a big hole in your pocket.

  • iPod Shuffle
  • This tiny and cute little gadget is probably the best ever thing you can gift youngsters. This device is forever useful and offers support for playlists, podcasts, audiobooks, Genius Mixes and much more. Navigating the menu here is a breeze and it is probably the lightest ever music player you can carry around. Available for under $50, this is a great gadget to gift anyone at all.

The problem here is that the iPod Shuffle comes with only 2GB capacity, which is not all that much. Besides, there is no built-in radio and no headphone remote you can work with. Nevertheless, it is reasonably priced and is universally loved as well.

  • Roku LT
  • The Roku LT is a convenient alternative you the much costlier Roku XDS. Of course, it lacks a few features and offers only Wi-Fi, but it also includes all other must-have online services such as Netflix, Pandora, Amazon Instant Video and much more. The best thing about the Roku LT is that it offers support for older TVs. Starting at a mere $45, this makes for a great gift.

This, of course, is not the best gadget for playing your personal digital media. Besides, you will need a Wi-Fi signal in your home theater for it to work properly.

  • LaCie IamaKey USB Drive
  • This is a unique gift which also brings the user great utility. This Keychain USB drive is essentially a USB drive made of metal. Hence, it is far more durable than your regular plastic USB sticks. Since it comes attached in your keychain, there is never a chance of breakage, misplacing or losing it. It starts with a capacity of 4GB and is available in 16GB capacity too. The price of this product starts under $20, which works out great for your budget as well.

  • SanDisk Sansa Clip Zip
  • Quite like the iPod Shuffle, the problem with this device is that you cannot work directly with it on iTunes. You will have to perforce drag and drop the music files therein. But the good thing is that it comes with a nice screen, 4GB storage and built-in FM Radio, all of which are absent on your iPod Shuffle. It also includes a voice recorder and additional Swiss knife, which is a definite plus. Starting at $40, this is a great device to gift someone.

Of course, the construction of the device is not all that solid, but considering the price, you certainly have one hell of a bargain out here!

  • Logitech Harmony 200
  • The Logitech Harmony 200 is a nice PC-programmable universal remote, available for a mere $20. Capable of controlling only 3 devices at one time, it could work out great for a smaller music system. Easy to understand and use, this one is great for the price.

The downside, of course, is gives you limited control. You can get a lot more features if you spend just about $40 or so more. However, this definitely is worth it if you are looking for something really inexpensive and useful.
