The Logitech Harmony 200 is a nice PC-programmable universal remote, available for a mere $20. Capable of controlling only 3 devices at one time, it could work out great for a smaller music system. Easy to understand and use, this one is great for the price.
The downside, of course, is gives you limited control. You can get a lot more features if you spend just about $40 or so more. However, this definitely is worth it if you are looking for something really inexpensive and useful.
