Acer plans to introduce its C720 Chromebook in the market this November. This would be Acer’s third laptop that uses Google’s Chrome operating system.
Portability, speed, and looks are the most desirable features in this class of gadgets. So Acer has reduced the weight of new Acer C720 to 2.76 lb. Acer C720 is also 30 percent slimmer than its predecessor, being just 19.05 mm in thickness.. This reduction in size has, however, not been achieved by reducing functionality. Acer C720 has a regular keyboard and an HD webcam, as well. It also has 11.6 inch ComfyView HD matte display. The anti-glare feature of this display is a new feature in Acer’s laptops though this feature is available in laptops of competing brands.
The display in Acer C720 Chromebook has resolutions of 1366 x 768 pixels. Acer C720 Chromebook is powered by Intel Celeron 2955U. The micro-architecture incorporated in this laptop is that of Intel’s Haswell. This Acer Chromebook also has a quick solid state16GB drive. This drive facilitates quick booting. The laptop’s RAM is 4 GB. This memory is DDR3L variety. The batteries of this laptop can last for almost 8 hours or more.
Though Acer C720 Chromebook is considerably superior version of its immediate predecessor, the product doesn’t have anything new to offer. This Chromebook will cost approximately $200 for now. There are many gadgets in this segment with similar features, available in its price range or fewer. This may be the reason Acer is offering 100 GB storage on Google drive with this product, but such facility will be confined to two years from the date of purchase.
