HP has announced the launch of its new business enterprise offering for desktop PCs. The desktop gadgets Elite 8300 and Pro 6300 will be available from June 4 will retail at $679 and $579 respectively and will come in small sized or large form factor versions.
Compaq Elite 8300
The smaller model is highly configurable- offers the new Intel Ivy Bridge processor, Windows OS offered from Home Basic to Ultimate, optional FreeDOS, 2 or 4 DDR3 RAM DIMM slots, optional SD card reader, NVIDIA or AMD graphics also offered over the Intel integrated graphics and has 4 USB ports, 1 or 2 Displayport and a VGA port. It can work as both a standalone workstation and a thin client, but it does better working alone.
Compaq Pro 6300
Similar to the Elite 8300 model it comes with the new processor offering from Intel- the Ivy Bridge and has the same type of RAM options but unlike the 8300 you could not opt for more graphics- you will have to settle for the Intel integrated graphics. It has many options for optical drives, HDDs and SSDs. Like the Elite 8300, the Pro6300 too looks much like the Z series of workstations from HP.
