iPhone 6 PlusThis is good news for gadgets lovers because the bundled or locked offers with iPhone devices always lacked something that they needed. With unlocking of iPhone 6 and the plus model of iPhone 6, Apple has added more versatility to its devices.

Compatibility and Implications

iPhone 6 is compatible with networks offered by wireless companies such as Sprint, T-Mobile, AT&T, and Verizon. With this unlocking people get to choose the wireless carrier suitable to their needs rather than compromising on their needs. Such unlocking also makes life of iPhone user easier as they can use their smartphones with alternate carriers, who may have better deals to offer including shorter duration alternatives. People buying either iPhone 6 or iPhone 6 Plus will have to obtain their SIM cards from the company they choose instead of getting it from Apple.

Purchase Cost

iPhones are expensive. Therefore, at $650 a piece the device is certainly beyond the reach of most. However, part of that cost is absorbed by the carrier. Some companies go to the extent of offering iPhones without any margin money.  They make up for their losses from their monthly bills.

Unlocking will certainly help Apple. But the high costs may prevent Apple to gain too much. Apple is also bringing phasing out iPhone which it used to sell at $200 a piece.  This too will help to steer the market to the new products.
