Asus Plans to Launch ZenFone 2 in Motion

Asus ZenfoneTaiwan-based Asus recently invited Malaysian media to reveal details about its upcoming ZenFone 2 models. This product line was showcased at CES2015. The models are primarily designed for gadgets lovers with budgetary constraints. Asus, however, wants to test Asian markets before venturing into the west.

In all, there are three models under this product line. These are ZE 500 CL, ZE 550 ML, and ZE 551 ML. They differ slightly in specifications, and, therefore, in their pricing as well.

Specifications

Asus’ ZE 500 CL has a screen of 5 inches. This is a 720pixels screen. Its front camera is of 2 Megapixels, whereas the rear one is of 8 mega pixels. The processor in this device is Intel Atom mobile SoC Z2560, which is a dual core processor. The processor has a speed of 1.6Ghz.The RAM in this device is 2GB, whereas internal storage is 16GB. The device comes with a battery of 2,500 mAH.

ZE 550 ML has a screen size of 5.5 inches with 720 pixels. In addition, the processor in it, though again Intel Atom mobile SoC is Z3560 model.  This model has a quad core processor. The speed of this processor is 1.8 GHz. The front camera is 5 MP, and the rear one is 13 MP. In addition, the device includes flash which is dual LED. The size of its RAM and internal storage, however, is same as the ZE 500 CL, but the battery is 3000 mAH.

ZE 551 ML also has a 5.5 inch display, but this is 1080 pixel screen.  The device has Intel Atom mobile SoC quad core Z3580 processor with a speed of 2.3 GHz. The RAM in this is 4GB. In addition, this model has NFC.

Conclusion

It is difficult to decide how the market will react to this product line from Asus. Everybody knows that the smartphone market is going nowhere, and to prevent stagnancy or reduction in their market share, big players are likely to come up with lower models sooner than later. It remains to be seen whether Asus can make a reasonable and long lasting impression.
