Every company wants to be the first in something and in the case with ZTE, it managed to release the first smartphone that utilized the NVIDIA Icera Modem. This is NVIDIA’s first product that utilizes both processor + modem combo made by the company itself. The device that is said to have both of these is the ZTE Mimosa X.
As far as the screen is concerned, it uses a 4.3 qHD screen with a resolution of 960×54. In addition to that, the ZTE Mimosa X utilizes the NVIDIA Tegra 2 dual-core processor, a GeForce (also under NVIDIA) GPU as well as the Icera modem. The modem itself is capable of receiving network of up to 21Mbps putting it under the HSPA+ category. Best of all, the device will come with Ice Cream Sandwich by default so there is no headache of needing to upgrade it in the future.
Some multimedia supports that the ZTE Mimosa X has include A2DP, Dolby Sound, DLNA support and a few others. DLNA support would mean that it would connect seamlessly with other DLNA devices such as the TV or a laptop. The price has yet to be announced but it shouldn’t be too expensive under a contract.
