The 2014 Black Friday was on November 28th and this is obviously a time of the year that gadgets lovers patiently wait for. This year’s shopping festival season for them ending on Cyber Monday, i.e., the December 1st. It is all about Apple’s devices, i.e., models of iPhone and iPhone 6 Plus, which are available at attractive discounts. For starters, there are iTunes (gift cards) from Apple, for $50. But it is dealers that are coming up with irresistible offers.
Doesn’t $179 seem perfect price for iPhone 6 (16 GB)? If that seems attractive consider what exactly this offer from Walmart is made up of. This retailing giant actually offering iPhone 6 16 GB models for $104. The rest of that cost is towards gift cards. Preferred carriers are AT&T, Verizon, and Sprint in this deal. Walmart is also a game to exchange old iPhones for reasonable discounts some of which may fetch even $200.
Walmart’s competitor has the same price model, i.e., $179, but its gift card is for $30 only, making the iPhone 6 (16 GB) models purchased from it, a tad more expensive. However, target offers $50 discounts on 64 GB as well as 128 GB iPhone 6 models, provided the carriers are AT&T, Verizon, or Sprint.
Best Buy and Sam’s Club
These retailers are offering models of iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 plus for a discount of almost $100.
The smartphones market is near saturation. There can be few developments going forward. By offering its devices at such hefty discounts, Apple is capturing larger market share, and sniffing life out of smaller players. Retailers also realize that when it comes to smartphones, Apple will rule, and, therefore, if they have to draw customers, they need to dangle some carrots. It is, after all, time for Christmas shopping.
