Approximately one year after the appearance of Defy, Motorola announced a new Smartphone designed to withstand adverse weather conditions, and the underwater environment – named Motorola Defy Plus (Defy +). The plus sign on the name we can say that fits exactly after earlier this week, Google acquired the mobile devices division of Motorola.
Returning to the Smartphone Defy +, the hardware part does not impress (is not among the first ones out there), however has a configuration worth mention it, that makes it powerful: CPU at 1 GHz (single core), 512 MB RAM, screen capacitive of 3.7-inch with 480 x 854 pixels resolution, Gorilla Glass, 5 MP camera with autofocus, HSDPA, Wi-Fi hotspots and GPS 802.11n +. The battery has a capacity of 1700 mAh.
The OS is Android 2.3 Gingerbread.
IP67 certification guarantees that the phone even works submerged in water that is exceeding 1 meter and can stay this way for up to 30 minutes, has resistance to the touch of the dust.
Motorola Defy Plus is scheduled to appear on shelves in September, first in Germany then and on the rest of Europe and America markets. The price is estimated to be around 269 Euro plus VAT and trade margins. Stay tuned for more news about it.
