Nokia has finally announced the release date of the much-awaited Symbian-run Nokia N8. Those of you in the US have every reason to be thrilled, because you can pre-order the N8 for $550. The touchscreen Nokia N8 smartphone, the company’s first 12MP smartphone, is slated to start shipping in September 2010. This device additionally offers you free turn-by-turn directions from Ovi Maps, HD video recording and playback, HDMI output, 16GB of internal memory and more.
Samsung i909 Galaxy S
The Samsung i909 is the latest member of the Samsung Galaxy S smartphone series. This Android device comes with a 4” WVGA touchscreen display, 5MP autofocus camera, GPS, Bluetooth 3.0 and Android 2.1 OS. We have no more info on this one yet, but we will keep you updated as and when the news pours in.
Verizon Wireless ZTE Salute
Verizon Wireless will soon introduce a slider phone from ZTE, called the Salute. This handheld will have a 2.4” TFT display, 1.3MP camera, GPS, microUSB port, Bluetooth and CDMA support. No info yet on the pricing, but we will keep you in the know.
LG Town C300
Orange UK has set its eyes on a new QWERTY phone, the LG Town C300. This phone features on Orange’s “Coming Soon” page. The Town 300 will be sold on a Pay As You Go scheme for 69 GBP or about $108. The LG Town C300 comes with a 2.4” TFT LCD display, QWERTY keyboard, 2MP camera, 20MB internal memory, microSD card slot for up to 4GB additional memory, music player, Bluetooth, social networking, support for GSM/GPRS/EDGE and more.
Nokia X3-02 for China
The Nokia X3-02 has now hit China. This handheld features a 2.4” touchscreen display, 5MP camera with video recording, HSDPA, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 2.0, 16MB internal memory, microSD slot and 3.5mm headset jack. No information about pricing as yet.
Here is a leaked picture of the soon-to-come Dell Thunder. This Android 2.1-powered smartphone comes with a 4.1” touchscreen display with an 800×400 resolution and 8MP camera with 720p video recording. The picture is not so great, but it is good enough to give you an idea.
Dell Flash Android Froyo
The Dell Flash Android Froyo is slated for release sometime in Q1 2011. Features of this smartphone include 3.5” WVGA LCD display, powerful Qualcomm MSM7230 processor, 5MP camera with autofocus, smile/blink detection, microSD slot for up to 64GB expansion, TV-out, Bluetooth 3.0, Wi-Fi, HSPA and 3.5mm headphone jack. It is expected that AT&T will release this model. Maybe it could also even come unlocked on multiple carriers. No concrete info on that as yet.
