Apple has released a new iOS 5.1.1 build exclusively for the GSM band of iPhone 4. The update- Build 9B208 is available to users who have not updated to version 5.1.1 until now. If you have a 5.1.1 version already, you will not get this update, but why should you surprisingly, as there does not seem to be much difference to this revised version. Rather Apple has kept the changes under wraps and has not provided any documentation for the update.
The strange situation here is that the surprised version update for a specific configuration comes at a time when the first iOS 5.1.1 untethered jailbreaking solution was just released for the range of iOS gadgets that included the newly released iPad 3. Absinthe 2.0- the new iOS 5.1.1 jailbreak was released on May 25 after the new iOS version was released on May 7.
Why the New Build?
No one actually knows why Apple has released an update just for the GSM iPhone 4 although some bug fixes are sure to be there. If you think, you would have to wait more for the jailbreak you do not have to Absinthe 2.0.2 has been released promptly to allow you to jailbreak for the new iOS build.
