A lot of companies have started to make tablets or slates as some would call it. Apple started the revolution and then companies such as Acer, Samsung, ASUS and a few others took off with their own tablets. Another company that has been actively creating slates for consumers is HP and it seems that they are having a shift of heart in their market segment because the company is in a process of creating a slate meant for business customers.
The HP Slate 8 will be a 10.1 inch slate which comes with an additional feature which is the use of Windows 8 Professional inside it instead of any other operating systems such as Android. This information comes through a leaked image of its device. Amongst the things that are leaked includes the HP ProtectTools software, support for Computrace and a few others. It will also sport a battery life of up to 10 hours and has a profile of only 9.2mm and weighs 680g.
This is certainly an interesting leap for HP because it shows that there are already companies that are committed to Microsoft’s soon-to-be-released operating system. In fact, with this being said and done, it might just put Microsoft in the eyes of the world again when it comes to tablets.
