Lenovo has finally announced the launch of its newest tablet- the 9.7 inch S2109 IdeaTab slate coming with a 1024 x 768 pixels resolution- no retina display! Finally, some Ice Cream Sandwich gadgets will be coming to the stores. There has not been an announcement about the pricing or the availability of the new tablet.
There has not been a word about the processor yet, and in all probability, it is the NVIDIA Tegra 3 given the fact that Lenovo has used the Tegra 2 processors in its tablets before. In addition, expect better sound quality with the SRS Trumedia enabled speakers.
The battery backup is said to be about 10 hours. The 9.7-inch slate is just 8.9 mm thick and the design features a ‘gunmetal’ finish- it is not clear whether it is actually metal.
The ICS Android 4.0 tablet features an aspect ratio of 4:3, which is similar to the iPad2, but the thing missing out is the retina display of the new iPad. Perhaps the ICS is the greatest revelation, as the other features are usually dished out- a 1.3 MP front camera if you have to make a video call, a microSD slot, and microHDMI and microUSB card slots.
