New mobile phones, smartphones and tablets are entering the market almost on a daily basis. Considering the huge supply of these mobile devices, it is only natural for the consumer to get totally confused about which phone or mobile to purchase from the available variety. Samsung has turned out to be one of the leading manufacturers of smartphones these last couple of years. In this article, we bring you the newest, coming-soon Samsung phones for 2011.
Samsung Wave 578
The Samsung Wave 578 takes NFC or near field communication to an all new level. The phone itself is a basic smartphone and comes with the Bada 1.1 OS. The Wave 578 sits well in the palm of the user and the design is definitely not bad either. The power key takes a little while to locate, but in general, the smartphone is good enough to opearate.
Samsung usually do not heavily promote their lower-end smartphones, but this one just might get a little more attention than usual.
There are no details yet about the release date of the Samsung Wave 578, but we expect is sometime this month.
Samsung Galaxy S II
Samsung had proudly announced their Galaxy S II at the MWC 2011. This is the successor of the Galaxy S and has a lot more advanced features to it. The best thing about this smartphone is the new Super AMOLED display. This means better resolution and picture quality.
Having a good-looking 4.3” display screen, this makes it great to watch videos as well. The phone is really slim and does not feel heavy at all to the hand. The matte finish plastic chassis gives a firm grip as well.
Including a Samsung dual-core processor, the Galaxy S II is one powerful smartphone. Other features include an 8MP camera with LED flash, 1GB RAM for running apps and up to 32GB of internal storage. This smartphone also supports Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, HSDPA and A-GPS for satellite navigation as well.
The Samsung Galaxy S II is expected to start shipping this month in select countries.
Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1
Though this is a tablet device and not a smartphone, the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 is much looked forward to by one and all. Hence, we thought we would feature this one too.
A fitting reply to the Apple iPad 2, the Galaxy Tab 10.1 is expected to be released in June this year. This Android 3.0 Honeycomb powered tablet is the first Honeycomb tablet that is as slim and sleek as the iPad 2, and is actually even lighter than it.
This tablet has a 2MP front-facing camera and an additional 8MP camera as well. The disadvantage is that there are no USB or HDMI ports anywhere, neither are their microSD or SIM card slots. Maybe the final release will feature these.
The plasticky feel is yet another disappointment with the Galaxy Tab 10.1. Of course, this makes it lighter, but also robs it of a classy touch.
The Nvidia Tegra 2 Dual Core processor makes this device really fast. The Samsung Apps feature gives the user direct access to the company’s own app store. The resolution of the tablet is to be seen to be believed. The speakers are powerful too, which is an added plus. The camera is great for taking pictures.
The Wi-Fi only version of this tablet is also out into the market, but this seems to be lacking in the spec department.
The pricing for the 32GB version is $600 and the 16GB model costs $500. Complete details will be available during its release on June 8, 2011.
