Samsung Galaxy Tab 7 is a new successor for Galaxy Tab tablet based on a hardware platform borrowed from Galaxy S II Smartphone and a 7 inch screen based on a matrix of IPS type. Specifications still unofficial promise a dual-core processor at 1.2 GHz and 1 GB RAM, 16 GB memory with integrated NAND flash, expandable by attaching a micro SDHC memory card.
Among the options we will certainly find the connectivity USB interface, provided by the Galaxy Tab connector and possibly a HDMI output for connection to an LCD TV. Its 7-inch screen can display capacitive images at 1024 x 600 pixels using a matrix based on IPS technology, known for generous viewing angles and better picture quality.
The tablet operating system that comes with Samsung Galaxy Tab 7 could be Android 2.3.4 Gingerbread with TouchWiz 4.0 Interface. Among the facilities offered by the Galaxy Tab 7 includes the possibility to initiate video and voice calls, sending SMS messages respectively. Choosing Android Gingerbread platform instead of Honeycomb, an operating system specifically designed for tablets, is a compromise solution for Samsung in which they avoid complications for the absence of optimizations for hardware used by Galaxy Tab 7, borrowed from Galaxy S2 model.
According to rumors, the Samsung Galaxy Tab 7 tablet will be announced in autumn, possibly in September, at the IFA electronics fair in 2011.
