HTC has confirmed in an answer to a query by Endgadget that HTC One series- One X, One S and One XL will be updated to the Android 4.1 Jelly Bean platform but did not specify any timeframe. Perhaps HTC is waiting for the latest installment of the Android ecosystem to be launched. In any case, HTC with the One series looks to be doing a far better job and seems to be on a strong comeback.
Upgrades to the trio of these One gadgets will be coming to their version sold by AT&T, Rogers and T-Mobile. That is truly heartening considering how slow updates to the Android ecosystem have been rolling out until now. There is still no word about when the updates will come to the HTC Evo 4G LTE, and the HTC Droid Incredible 4G LTE. The One series is the cream of the HTC offering and their flagship devices.
Why Upgrades Come Slow?
Upgrades to the Android version have been irritatingly slow since they have to go through carrier approval and integrate with the customized skin and features that the OEM adds to the device. In the case of HTC, the Sense interface needs to be tweaked.
