A lot of people have been anxious about a motherboard that can support Intel’s Thunderbolt technology but you might not expect two motherboards from two different manufacturers to be released on the same day. However, the case is like that with ASUS and MSI as both launched their Thunderbolt supported motherboard on the same day making these two the first Thunderbolt motherboard in the market.
The one that ASUS decided to release it with is the P8Z77-V PREMIUM motherboard. It is an Intel certified motherboard and the first to offer the Thunderbolt connection capability. Its PREMIUM version has always been one of the best few in the market and that is apparent with this new motherboard released. Thunderbolt offers simultaneous bi-directional 10Gbps transfer speed which is a lot more than the current eSATA or USB 3.0 standards. This motherboard can daisy-chain up to six different devices.
As far as the MSI is concerned, Thunderbolt is made available on its MSI Z77A-GD80 motherboard and they claim that this one makes use of the Military Class III standard equipment making it a very reliable motherboard as well. Its PCI Express Gen 3 port allows for a bandwidth of up to 32GB/s and will also support the latest and newest 22nm processor as well.
