While non-Mac users have always had the courtesy of changing their graphics card with the change in time, Mac users had to be stuck with the same one for a much longer time. This is because the Mac Pro has yet to get its product update and thus not much is available to be used with this device. In fact, the target customer when it comes to graphics card for Mac is professional Mac Pro users because these are the only Macs that can have their components replaced.
However, NVIDIA had nevertheless released a new product just for the Mac Pro users. We are talking about a seriously high-performing workstation graphics card which is the Quadro K5000. The good thing about this card is that it is 100% compatible with Mac Pro as well as various designing applications. The bad news is that it won’t come in cheap because those that want to get one of these will have to fork out a whopping $2,249 for a piece of card.
As a gauge as to how powerful this card is, an SLI configuration will allow you to edit 4K movies. In addition to that, a quick test on Adobe After Effects CS6 showed that this card allows you to edit up to 11 1080p streams at the same time in real-time. NVIDIA mentioned that this card will be available later this year.
