Customers from US will finally be able to buy Sony Smartwatch 2, which was to be launched around the third quarter of this year in this market but has been launched now. The product is available for approximately $199.5.
Its 1.6 inch display of 220 x 176 resolutions is transreflective, i.e., it adjusts to sun’s glare. The body is made from aluminum, and the wristband is made from silicon. Sony also intends to provide wristbands of different colors made from different materials. This smartwatch received IP57 rating, which is for gadgets that are water resistant.
Sony Smartwatch 2 has microUSB charging feature. The battery of this smartwatch lasts anywhere between 3 and 4 days with every charge. It includes near field communication (NFC) for pairing with other gadgets. Smartwatch 2 is compatible with many devices using Android OS provided the operating system installed in them is not any of the Android releases before Android 4.0, i.e., Ice Cream Sandwich.
There are many reasons Smartwatch 2 is worth spending on. Sony SmartConnect app is forming an integral part of this gadget, i.e., the application in Xperia range, and Google Play. Basically, this application is for finding applications. According to Sony, there are over 80 apps in the watch, which are fully optimized.
