Samsung has come up with its own GamePad for enabling users to enjoy games. Advantage of this GamePad over the one introduced by Apple not so long ago is that Samsung’s version can be used by Android Smartphone users without any external device required to link it to the phone. This is achieved because Samsung’s Gamepad uses Bluetooth technology for accessing relevant games from Android phones.
The gadget has curved steel frame. The Game controller in it holds the phone firmly letting the user press buttons and move knobs as needed while playing any of their favorite games. The device is equipped to hold Android smartphones. It may be possible to use phablet on it too.
Samsung’s GamePad is compatible with devices that run Android 4.1 version and above, provided the size of such smartphones is within the range of 4 and 6.3 inches. Samsung claims that Galaxy devices with Android 4.3 and above versions can also be used on this. This means, the GamePad is good enough for Note 2, Galaxy S4, Galaxy 3, and Note 3. Such pairing with Galaxy gadgets is through NFC.
Playing the Game
There is a play button, which when pressed initiates the Mobile Console tool from Samsung. People can then browse and purchase any of the games that can be played on GamePad. There are about 35 games available as of now, which according to the company’s spokesperson are reasonably priced. The list of such games includes Prince of Persia: The Shadow and the Flame, Modern Combat 4: Zero Hour, Asphalt 8: Airborne, Virtual Tennis Challenge, and Need for Speed Most Wanted. The company intends to give access to more games in 2014.
