While displaying the new features in a prerecorded presentation which was telecasted online, the company president Satoru Iwata gave a demo of the multiplayer feature of Mario Kart 7 for the 3DS which is supposed to be launched on December 1st this year in Japan.
Embedded Social Features
The multiplayer feature is done by setting up racing communities which entitles the users to get go-kart parts and race with other individuals. Apart from gaming online, the users of 3DS would also get an expanded online social feature, which would help the users to access other consoles and move the contents. Iwata also hinted at many new games which would be available for the Japan users.
The new version of 3DS would be available in US and Europe from February 22, next year.
