Korea received the news last month that the ultraportable Samsung Series 5 is available in the Korean market and is thrown up for sale. And now the US owners will also get the chance to have hands on experience on this ultra-thin notebook since J&R made it available for pre-order then later on took off the announcement from their website.
The Price Probability
The Series 5 13.3 inches ultrathin laptop will cost $899.99 while the 14 inch model is of $949.99 with in-built DVD burner. The other specifications of these ultrathin gadgets are Core i5-2467M processor of 1.6Hz, RAM of 4GB, 500 GB Hard drive, 16 GB SSD with an anti-reflective display of 1366×768. Just imagine all this is compiled in a 3.24lb package! In Korea, at the time of release of Series 5 Ultra laptops the prices were quite high as 13 inch was of $1300 and 14-inch laptop was priced as $1345. The price drop is quite reasonable for these Ultrabooks.
Samsung promised earlier that the 14-inch model will have a graphic card of Radeon HD 7550M and a hard disk of 1TB, but these things are missing in the model. Maybe, in the expensive versions we will get to see these features.
Users of Series 5 notebook will get Gigabit Ethernet, dual band 802.11 a/b/g/n Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 3.0, multi format card reader, HDMI output, USB 2.0 ports, and 1.3MP HD webcam with the 4W power output stereo speakers.
After making the orders of 50 models, J&R is still unsure about the delivery date as Samsung has not provided the date yet.
