The year 2015 has started with a bang, at least for Samsung. The Korean company has just given a glimpse of what to expect from its Ultrabook, which is likely to arrive any time within the first quarter of the year.
This ATIV Book 9 weighs merely 2.09 pounds. With 0.46 inch thickness, it is hard to imagine how the internal layout of this laptop is planned. No prices for guessing the material for making its body. It is aluminum. Black colored interiors, as well as exteriors, give it the dignity of an official device. The 2560 by 1600 resolution display comes with an added feature. There is a possibility to increase the brightness to desired levels so that these gadgets can be used outside the home or office.
Features and Specifications
At the core of the device is Intel’s Core M-5Y10c. This processor is not the fastest. Its plus point is it does not require a fan. The RAM in this device is 4GB. People can choose to increase it to 8GB if need be. There are SSD storage choices. These facilitate storage of 512 GB. Notwithstanding the fact that the Ultrabook is merely half inch thick, it does have ports, more specifically 2 USB 3.0, 1 micro HDMI, and a card slot for microSD. In addition, it also has a jack which can be used for both microphone and headphone.
Slim laptops are here to stay. Samsung’s this product competes with Lenovo’s Yoga 3Pro, and HP’s EliteBook Folio 1020. Samsung’s product leaves a lot to be desired. Nevertheless, many people do not need and therefore do not use many of the features existing in their laptops. Therefore, targeted market uses lower end features of the sophisticated devices and relevant software programs. The only hurdle that would prevent Samsung from capturing larger market share would be the cost. At $1199, it is way too expensive for the targeted market.
