Sites like MacRumors keep gadgets world buzzing with rumors about Apple and its latest models. If rumors are to be believed, Apple has plans to introduce two models of iPhone this September, possibly around September 19th.
The Two Models
The company initially had plans to introduce two types of smartphones around that time. One of them would have a display of 4.7 to 4.9 inches whereas the other would have a display of 5.5 inches. The company also wanted to include more features in a larger model but had to shelve its plan because of technological issues with a display, as well as the battery life. Now that it has overcome that snag, the 5.5 inches model is likely to arrive on the same day as its smaller display twin.
Though Apple has yet to confirm anything, market expects the phablet, i.e., 5.5 inch model to have superior camera features, in particular OIS or optical image stabilization. The company has already used such technology in its iPhone 5S. This technology reduces image shaking. As of now, market expects the price of the 5.5 inch phablet to be $100 more than 4.7 inch twin.
Phablets are here to stay and tablets as well as smartphones are on their way out. If rumors are right, Apple will be wise to introduce both simultaneously. The move will certainly prevent others digging into its market share in both segments, and might even allow it to snatch some if the products are priced right.
