Nokia N9 is preparing to launch, at least in Sweden, where the countdown has already begun on the Nokia website.
Indicating less than 50 days remaining, the timer positions the release date shortly after mid-September.
Nokia N9 is a smartphone based on MeeGo operating system, equipped with a 3.9 inch AMOLED screen. Lacking physical keyboard or other buttons, N9 is controlled using its touch screen interface, which has a slightly curved surface.
The case is unibody type, made from a single piece of polycarbonate plastic, thus doesn’t have points of connection or removable covers. The microSIM Card and Memory Card are inserted in a side compartment, and its internal components and the irremovable battery are installed before applying the Gorilla Glass panel, responsible for protecting the screen.
Specifications for Nokia N9 include 16 or 64 GB internal memory, 1 GB RAM, 1 GHz processor and PowerVR SGX530 graphics core. Connectivity options include Wi-Fi N, Bluetooth 2.1 and 3G, respectively the NFC mode for electronic payment. The phone has a 8 MP camera with autofocus, video capture resolution capable of 720p. Equipment list also includes accessories such as proximity sensors, accelerometer, digital compass and GPS receiver, accompanied by software for OVI Maps navigation.
Nokia N9 will be available in versions with 16 GB internal memory for $660 retail price, $749 respectively for the 64 GB.
