Sony Ericsson launches two new phones with Android – Xperia™ Ray and Xperia™ Active


At Communic Asia 2011, Sony Ericsson has launched two new models of android smartphones – Xperia™ Ray and Xperia™ Active. The new releases of Xperia, Xperia™ Ray and Xperia Active are based on the latest Android platform (Gingerbread 2.3).

Xperia™ Ray:

Designed for those who value design and who want a thin phone, the Xperia™ ray is only 9.4 mm thick aluminum frame and a screen of 3.3″.

In addition to visual performance and image clarity, this model comes with a 1GHz processor and incorporates powerful Sony technologies such as Reality Display with BRAVIA® Mobile engine and 8.1 MP camera with Exmor R™ sensor for mobile phones.

However, Xperia™ ray has front camera, scratch-resistant screen of high-resolution and is equipped with Facebook function inside Xperia™ that integrates Facebook access to all phone menus.

Xperia™ Ray will be available on the first markets starting with Q3.

Xperia™ Active:

Xperia™ is designed for active people with active lifestyles. It has a compact design and a 3″ screen, a powerful 1 Ghz processor, 5 MP camera and filming HD. It is also resistant to dust and water – can be held at 1 meter under water for 30 minutes.

Xperia™ Active is the only model with wet finger tracking function so that the phone works perfectly when the screen or the user’s fingers are wet.

The corners of the screen are equipped with a lot of applications for sports activities like: GPS, barometer and compass, can also monitor the heart rate and your pulse (ANT + wireless technology) and with iMapMyFitness app. This awesome application you will be able to monitor daily their sports performance.

Xperia™ Active will be available on the first markets starting with Q3.
