Blackberry is up for the launch of a couple of smartphones. The first one is the successor to Bold 9700, the BlackBerry Bold R020 and second one is a CDMA, “Oxford” 9670 flip phone.
The R020 is equipped with tri-band UMTS / quad-band EDGE features a 624MHz clockspeed and 2.44-inch 480 x 360 screen with a RAM of 512MB. The R020 sports a 5-megapixel camera with autofocus and flash. This phone which is believed to be a successor of BlackBerry Bold 9700 runs on BlackBerry 6. The BlackBerry Oxford 9670 (flip phone) carries a full QWERTY keyboard, 360 x 400 internal display and 240 x 320 for the external display with a 5 megapixel camera and usual features like Wi-Fi and GPS. It runs on the new BlackBerry 6 operating system. None of the two phones comes with a touchscreen but both of them sticks to the traditional keypads.
The BlackBerry Bold R020 is expected to launch in October 2010 while the release date for the Oxford is still not revealed. The prices of these phones are still awaited.
R020 is a successor to Bold 9700, it is reliable and we can classify it as a fast smartphone with brilliant features. The oxford flip phone can prove to be a trendy phone for those who think smartphones need a change in the design.
