Latest Steps from Adobe- Nitobi Acquisition and Adobe Creative Cloud


Earlier this week, Adobe announced two acquisitions, the former one being touch-based tablet apps while the latter one being a Creative Cloud.

Nitobi Acquisition

Adobe has signed an agreement so as to acquire Nitobi who is the creator of PhoneGap and PhoneGap Build. When Apple introduced its iPad gadget, Adobe’s flash technology was not welcomed which is why it was pressure for Adobe to transform itself. In fact, it was Steve Jobs who advised Adobe to put more energy into making HTML5 tools because he knew that such tools have the potential to win on mobile devices.

Adobe Creative Cloud

Adobe’s CEO Shantanu Narayen said; he always had firm belief in Steve Jobs which is why he took his advice to his heart. Adobe started offering its Creative Suite software earlier this week on a subscription basis. There is no word on the pricing of Adobe’s Creative Cloud and according to the sources; they will be revealing it in November. Currently, Adobe’s Touch apps include six apps including Adobe Ideas, Adobe Collage, Adobe Pronto, Adobe Kuler, Adobe Debut and Adobe Carousel.
