$40 Aakash 2 is available for grabs

The Aakash tablet is definitely an impressive one as of date. Even though it is not being run by the fastest mobile processor in the market, nor it has all of the capabilities of a $500 tablet, it has one thing that makes it all the more special, its price. Aakash by DataWind was sold at only $60 to people in India and it is time to update the Aakash with its successor, the Aakash 2, aka UbiSlate7+.

Aakash 2 has a better specification that the previous version. It is powered by a 700 Mhz Cortex A8 processor with a battery capacity of 3200mAh. In addition to that, it is powered by Android 2.3 and has both Wi-Fi and GPRS connectivity although it is also possible to use 3G with an optional dongle. All of these are good but in fact, not only does the device have a better spec, it also has a cheaper price of only $40 as well.

As of date, Aakash 2 is practically sold out for the month of March although users can get their bookings done for the April order. Is it worth to buy it? If you’re thinking of letting your kids have a go at it, then by all means, it may be the cheapest solution for you.
