In a press briefing attended by NetbookNews ahead of the CES 2012 to be held next week in Las Vegas. ASUS has announced the future launches of its flagship tablet PC the ASUS Eee Pad Transformer Prime, which is 3G enabled, and an unnamed Windows 8 tablet slate. The Transformer Prime 3G will roll out from March this year while the Windows 8 tablet will hit the stores by the end of the year.
The Launch Schedule
Two models of ASUS gadgets have been readied for the CES 2012 along with two new models that will debut in the latter half of 2012. The Transformer Prime 3G and the Windows 8 slate will feature 7-inch displays while the new models are expected to have 10-inch displays.
Specs Kept Secret
Even last month, ASUS had denied any new models coming up, and denying the launch of Tegra3 3G Transformer Prime or any UMTS/HSPA model. Suddenly there are some slates rolled out from ASUS. It is yet not clear the wireless service that it may provide- whether the 4G version with WiMAX or LTE is available. However, location services are sure to get a boost with the introduction of a much powerful GPS.
