LG informs gadgets world that it is introducing a new product under its G Pad 8.3 tablet range. This new product would be a Google Play Edition. So far there is no tablet in the market offering Google Play. The South Korean electronics giant has also replaced its in-house user interface in this tablet with Android 4.4. The product can be bought from Tuesday.
The screen of LG G Pad 8.3 has an in-plane switching feature. The 8.3 inch screen offers resolution to the scale of 1920 by 1200 pixels. This high resolution is supported with equally high density i.e., 273 pixels in every inch. Effectively, this screen is good enough for HD content even though it is a tad below the standard of Apple Retina.
The size of this tablet is 8.53 inches x 4.96 inches x 0.33 inches. It weighs merely 0.75 pounds. The compact tablet includes ample real estate. Design of this tablet is also highly impressive.
Advantage of this Google Play Edition from LG is that people accustomed to Android can use all the original features in it. However, device specific features would be absent in such pristine Android versions. Using Google applications and purchasing from Google Play store would also be easier with this edition.
The processor included in LG G Pad 8.3 is 600 Qualcomm Snapdragon with speed of 1.7 GHz. The tablet also has a RAM of 2GB and a built in storage capacity of 16 GB. People can add 64 GB storage with microSD cards. The camera included in this device is of 5 mega pixels. In addition, there is illumination provided at the backside of the device. The tablet includes a battery made from Lithium polymer of 4,600 mAh. G Pad does not have any cellular radio. However, it has Wi Fi connectivity.
The tablet is priced at $349 which is highly competitive price when compared to $649 of Galaxy S4 and $599 of HTC One Play edition.
