LG’s 2015 Nexus 5X and 2015 Nexus 6 will come with the latest Android OS, i.e., Android 6.0, which is identified as Marshmallows. The launch date for these two gadgets is tentatively fixed as 29th of September 2015. Motorola too has plans to offer this advanced OS in its budget devices.
Which Motorola devices would get Android 6 and when?
Motorola intends to offer Android 6 with both second and third generation of Moto G, but it will take the company a while for the entire process with Moto G series. However, the market is abuzz with news that Motorola may introduce Android 6 with other Motorola devices as well. The list expected to have the new OS includes Moto X Style which is better known as Moto X (Pure Edition) in the US., Moto Droid (Turbo), Moto X, and Moto X (2014). The timeline for such release is expected to be towards December ending or beginning of 2015.
Implications of Including Android 6 Marshmallows
This OS is in beta phase for now. Therefore, it is available as a preview edition for Nexus devices. The anticipated benefit with this OS is an improvement in overall functioning as well as improvement in battery life. Therefore, the market expects the new Android OS to make the device usage smoother.
Motorola’s budget devices will certainly capture more market share if this is the only series of gadgets that are released with the new OS. It will, however, take people a while to learn it.
